Recruiting Solutions is hiring a Tooling Specialist for a manufacturing company in the Laurens area. The primary responsibility of this role is to assemble and set up roll trains and production tooling for the pipe and tube manufacturing process.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities :

• Takes direction from and Reviews Mill schedule with Mill Supervisor
• Inspect tooling for damage or wear and report findings.
• Set up proper rolls and production tooling based on rolling schedules or instructions.
• Perform maintenance tasks such as greasing / lubricating roll trains and washing rolls and related components.
• Review and disposition suspect and nonconforming material.
• Replace damaged inductors, impeders, or bearings as necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of root diameter information on roll trains.
• Conduct daily lift truck inspections and report any issues.
• Keep the work area clean and free from hazards.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.
• Interpret and communicate specification information to the mill personnel.
• Utilize measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers for dimensional analysis.
• Ensure samples are cut for product certification.
• Work safely following Haz Com & workplace safety practices as outlined by Custom Steel Supply policy & OSHA.
• Perform parameter checks on product to determine any needed adjustments.
• Alerts Mill Operator of any difficulties with machinery.
• Report any irregularities or malfunctions to managers or maintenance.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and equipment.
• Follow verbal and / or written instructions and comply with safety protocols and PPE requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education / Experience Required :

• High School diploma with some post-HS education or equivalent job experience required.
• College / technical degree or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• 2 years of experience in a manufacturing facility.
