SUMMARY- An employee in this position uses manual labor to perform unskilled tasks of a physically demanding nature of janitorial and building maintenance activities. Work assignments will involve the learning of new tasks and methods. Performance is evaluated based on timely completion of assignments, thoroughness of work, adherence to accepted methods and practices, and ability to successfully learn and complete new methods and operations. This work is performed under close and direct supervision of the Facility Foreman.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES – None.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS – The minimum eligibility requirements for this position are as follows:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE – Possession of a high school diploma or GED Certificate or one year of related custodial experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the essential requirements of work.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS – Must possess a current and valid Class “C” Real ID Maryland Driver’s License or a comparable driver’s license issued by the employee’s state of residence, and a proven safe driving record. Completion of the National Incident Management System (NIMS) command courses required by the City Office of Emergency Management within six (6) months of employment with the City.
