Medical Laboratory Scientist - Microbiology
This is an exciting opportunity to join a medical center offering a spectrum of care, including diagnostic, therapeutic, and rehabilitative services, both on an inpatient and outpatient basis.
Responsibilities:
- Perform clinical testing in at least two of the following areas: General Lab, Microbiology, Transfusion Services, and Processing/Tube Dispatch.
- Perform diagnostic testing on patient samples to aid physicians in the diagnosis and/or monitoring of various disease states
- Adheres to all safety/health regulatory and state/federal legal requirements and the policies, operating procedures, and Service Standards
- Performs maintenance and function checks on electronic, analytical equipment and perform operational checks necessary for proper test performance to assure accurate and reliable test results and reporting.
Requirements and Desired Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in scientific field of study
- Certification as a Medical Technologist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist or as a Specialist in related field preferred.
- Certification/Licensure: Med Tech ASCP or equivalent or eligible preferred
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to conduct analysis and formulate conclusions
- Able to plan, prioritize and meet deadlines
- Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
Salary: $50k - $60k
