Duties and responsibilities
As the Director of Nursing (DON) in an Assisted Living Facility, your duties and responsibilities will include:
1. **Supervision**: Oversee and manage nursing staff, ensuring high-quality care.
2. **Care Planning**: Develop and review individualized care plans for residents.
3. **Quality Control**: Monitor resident health and care standards.
4. **Medication Management**: Ensure proper administration and documentation of medications.
5. **Policy Development**: Establish and update nursing policies and procedures.
6. **Regulatory Compliance**: Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and prepare for inspections.
7. **Budget Management**: Manage the nursing department budget efficiently.
8. **Record Keeping**: Maintain accurate medical and incident records.
9. **Training**: Coordinate staff training and professional development.
10. **Performance Evaluation**: Conduct performance reviews and implement improvement plans.
11. **Advocacy**: Advocate for residents' needs and preferences.
12. **Family Communication**: Communicate with families about resident care and changes.
13. **Crisis Management**: Lead response to medical emergencies.
14. **Interdepartmental Coordination**: Work with other departments for comprehensive care.
15. **Quality Improvement**: Implement programs to enhance care quality.
16. **Resident Satisfaction**: Monitor and improve resident satisfaction.
17. **Professional Development**: Stay updated with nursing practices and trends.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Associate Degree in Nursing, 3 years of nursing experience.
- Diploma, 3 years of nursing experience.
- BSN, 2 years nursing experience.
- Maintains current BLS/CPR certification
- Current licensure by the State Board of Examiners of Nurses in the Center's state.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: Up to $65.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
