Job Description SummarySeeking an experienced accounting professional to partner with the CFO in support of achieving our current and long-term growth objectives. This position is responsible for all accounting-related activities, including daily accounting transactions, managerial accounting, and finance activities. Responsible for ensuring all accounting tasks are completed accurately and timely and follow financial regulations and reporting requirements. Risk management is also a major part of the Corporate Controller’s duties, by forming internal financial policies, procedures, and controls. Looking for an experienced candidate who can bring fresh ideas and approaches to continuously improve not only our accounting department but our Company wide systems, data, and analysis.
Essential Duties
- Developing and implementing financial policies
- Overseeing the accounting staff
- Ensuring compliance with financial and accounting regulations
- Preparing and managing financial reporting, including balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements.
- Coordinating tax schedules and work with outside audit firm
- Performing financial risk assessment and internal audits
- Assisting with corporate financial decisions
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Michigan CPA
- Advanced knowledge of accounting standards
- Strong analytical skills
- Superb organizational and time management skills
- Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
- 5 or more years of Public Accounting experience
- Experience with information systems and relational databases (SQL, Power BI, etc.)
