The Multi-County Juvenile Detention Center is seeking a full-time Custodial/Maintenance worker for 1st shift, or as assigned by the Superintendent. Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Custodial/Maintenance cleans and maintains the common areas of the facility daily.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Adheres to the Facility Master Cleaning Protocol.
2. Completes laundry duties daily.
3. Removes trash and waste.
4. Cleans, strips, and polishes flooring.
5. Vacuums carpet.
6. Washes windows.
7. Cleans maintenance areas.
8. Dusts.
9. Assists in cleaning detention areas as needed.
10. Assists Center in contraband control.
11. Performs other relevant/job specific duties as assigned in a timely and accurate manner.
INHERENTLY HAZARDOUS OR PHYSICALLY DEMANDING WORKING CONDITIONS:
May be required to drive in adverse weather conditions; must be able to lift or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds; may be exposed to violent youths or youths under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs; may be exposed to blood or other bodily fluids; may be required to restrain violent detention residents; may be exposed to contagious or communicable diseases.
