The Department of Corrections is currently recruiting to fill a 70% Hemodialysis Technician position. This position is based out of Fox Lake Correctional Institution but may provide coverage at the Dodge Correctional Institution (Fox Lake, Dodge County) .

Position Summary
This position is responsible for assisting in the dialysis care provided to patients in the Dodge/Fox Lake Correctional Hemodialysis Unit. Primary duties include providing direct patient care to patients in the Hemodialysis Unit and performing other technical tasks to assist with the functioning of the dialysis unit, while under the direct supervision of a Nurse Clinician.
Salary Information
This position is in pay schedule and range 06-13 with a starting pay of $22.86/hour .
Pay rates on appointment for current or former state employees may vary according to the applicable pay transaction provisions of the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code.
A twelve-month probationary period is required.
Remote work options not available for these positions.
Anticipated Shift is 4:30 AM – 3:00 PM with potential for PM rotation 8:30 AM – 7:00 PM
Job Details
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.
The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.
The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.

Qualifications
Minimally qualified applicants will have experience: Experience providing direct care to patients in a Dialysis Unit or other health care setting Experience maintaining equipment and supplies in a healthcare setting Experience following procedures and patient care protocols under the direction of a Healthcare supervisor
Special Qualifications: Must maintain CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation) certification and have the ability to perform CPR and/or first aid to prevent loss of life and relieve suffering until appropriate care arrives.
