Job description

Below are the essential job duties:

  • Coordinate and schedule shipments both domestic and international
  • Monitor customer releases and purchase material accordingly
  • Track and monitor shipments to ensure on-time delivery
  • Work in cross-functional teams on new and existing projects
  • Manage new parts to ensure start of production dates are met
  • Negotiate with overseas suppliers decrease costs and lead times
  • Be familiar with changing market conditions to validate costs and increase competitiveness
  • Conduct cycle counts to validate inventory levels
  • Visit and audit key/new suppliers
  • Provide timely responses to internal and external entities
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft office and have high computer skills
  • Communicate with other ASF branches to refine and improve current operating procedures

Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, and 2-3 years experience preferred.

We're looking for an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and detail-oriented Buyer to join our team. The successful candidate will assist with the identification, pricing and purchasing of merchandise. This is a great opportunity to become an integral part of a fast-paced team that purchases everything from office supplies to inventory for our front lines. The ideal candidate understands the importance of keeping costs low while also making sure we are ordering the appropriate amounts of inventory.

Responsibilities:

  • Track inventory levels and sales through the use of computer program.
  • Communicate with vendors.
  • Monitor shipping activities.
  • Anticipate supply shortages and delays in delivery times.
  • Create written reports of major events.```Duties```

- Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet organizational objectives
- Identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships
- Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and trends in the industry
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their purchasing needs and requirements
- Ensure timely delivery of goods and services while maintaining cost efficiency
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure optimal stock levels
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and delivery information
- Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and best practices in procurement

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role
- Strong knowledge of contract management and procurement processes
- Familiarity with logistics and category management principles
- Proficient in using procurement systems and MRP software
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to analyze data and make informed purchasing decisions
- Knowledge of sourcing strategies and quality management principles
