We are currently seeking a College Counselor in our Enrollment Management and Student Experience department. This position provides direct counseling services to students at Purdue Fort Wayne and assists with campus Wellness Division initiatives. The annual salary for this position is $53,000.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide compassionate, holistic clinical counseling care to students utilizing evidence and established theory-based interventions.
• Carry a case-load of student appointments and provide coverage for walk-in care during business hours.
• Support the academic and personal success of students.
• Serve on the University CARE team to support effective responses to student needs.
• Complete required paperwork and participate in data collection and reporting.
• Participate in case staffing and consultation with Student Counseling Center Staff and interns.
• Work in conjunction with other relevant offices to respond to campus or student crisis events. Be available for consultation.
• Active participation in professional organizations with the purpose of maintaining knowledge of trends in college student mental health and best practices for college counseling.
• Work collaboratively with other related offices on campus to support wellness and promote mental health campus wide.
• Provide services in-person and via telehealth.
• Create, coordinate, and conduct training seminars for faculty and staff focusing on relevant mental health topics, how to support student mental health, and how to effectively practice self-care.
• Provide support for the needs and growth of the Student Counseling Center.
• Connect and collaborate with local community partners in wellness and mental health.
• Maintain a license and/or work toward full licensure within 3 years if currently on an associate license.

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Counseling or a related field.
• A minimum of an associate level license as an LMHC-A (or similar clinical license) in the state of Indiana within the first month of employment required. A temporary license issued by the state of Indiana while applications are pending is acceptable.
• 3 years of work experience in a counseling or helping field.
• Experience with peer-mentoring programming, training non-clinical populations, and group counseling
• Experience working with a diverse population.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Fully licensed in the state of Indiana; LMHC or similar clinical license.
• Experience working with a university counseling center or traditional/non-traditional college students.
