We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and possess a strong knowledge of veterinary procedures and terminology. This position plays an important roll to ensure both the clients and patient's needs are met with compassion and care. This position is also key in the smooth running of the practice assisting the doctors with appointments, client communication, performing dentals and assisting with surgery.
The position is for a full-time employee and must be available to work morning and afternoons and some Saturdays, approximately 30-35 hrs. a week. The exact hours will vary and are subject to change.
Some duties include:
- Assist veterinarians in routine examinations and surgical procedures
- Perform laboratory tests such as urinalysis and blood counts
- Administer medications and vaccines under veterinarian supervision
- Handle and restrain animals during procedures
- Take and develop X-rays
- Maintain accurate records of patient care
Requirements:
- Certification or Associate Degree in Veterinary Technology
- Proficiency in animal physiology, pet care, and veterinary terminology
- Experience in dog handling, animal care, and aseptic techniques
- Knowledge of animal handling, pet grooming, and animal catheterization
- Familiarity with X-ray procedures
