Overview

TIGHITCO, Inc. is an industry leader in the design, fabrication, and assembly of engineered components for aerospace and industrial applications. TIGHITCO is comprised of three divisions – Complex Composite Structures, Insulation Products, and Overhaul Support Services, supported by five facilities located throughout North America. We have ISO 9001, AS9100 and NADCAP accreditation for our quality and system management.

Responsibilities

    • Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of quality engineers, specialist, and inspectors providing guidance, support and opportunities for professional growth and development
    • Resource Management: Manage the quality team, including recruitment, training, and performance management, to ensure the team has the necessary skills and resources to meet objectives set by leadership.
    • Quality Management System: Oversee the maintenance of the Quality Management System.
    • Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with all customer requirements upholding quality standards and regulatory requirements, implementing rigorous quality assurance processes to maintain the highest level of product quality.
    • Continuous Improvement: Aim for zero defects across all value streams working with each stream to identify track and trend appropriate quality metrics. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability and innovated principles such as Six Sigma DMAIC, Lean, etc
    • Quality Clinic: Own the non-conformance review process. Establish daily and weekly activities to identify and disposition all-non conformities and prevent future occurrences.
    • Certification Compliance: Prepare for and lead external certification audits ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and quality standards (AS9100, ISO9001, NADCAP)
    • Supplier Management: Collaborate with vendors and suppliers holding them in alignment with quality standards and performance requirements. Oversee the implementation and maintenance of a Supplier Quality Manual
    • Management Reviews: Lead facility-based management reviews in accordance with company quality system requirements.

  • This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5-8 years minimum experience in regulated industry as a member of a Quality team. Knowledge of quality management systems and regulatory requirements in the aerospace industry.
  • Six Sigma or Lean trained (green or black belt preferred)
  • Extensive experience in aerospace composite manufacturing, with a strong understanding of composite materials, manufacturing processes and industry certifications.
  • Proven leadership experience, with a track record of successfully managing quality teams and driving innovation in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Commitment to excellence, with a passion for driving continuous improvement and delivering high-quality results.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Supervisory Responsibility

Manages Quality Engineer, and Quality Supervisor(s) who supervises Inspectors in the Quality Department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
