THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services is currently on the lookout for a Registered Nurse Supervisor to join the healthcare team at Clarks Summit State Hospital. The primary objective of the hospital's treatment approach is to support individuals in their recovery journey and help them reintegrate into the community seamlessly.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As part of this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the coordination, execution, and assessment of patient care in accordance with established nursing protocols and patient care guidelines provided by an authorized healthcare provider, while also supervising nursing personnel to ensure compliance with these standards.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • The Department of Human Services provides excellent benefits, pay increases, paid leave and holidays, as well as opportunities for career advancement.
  • FREE PARKING!
  • Work hours are 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM or 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM. Rotating days off, works weekends and holidays as assigned. Hours may be adjusted to meet the needs of the Nursing Department.
  • Travel and overtime as needed.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Three years as a Registered Nurse (commonwealth title); or
  • Four years of professional nursing experience providing care and treatment services consistent with those needed for individuals with a mental or physical injury or illness and/or a developmental disability.
Special Requirements:
  • This position requires active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
  • All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
Other Requirements:
  • PA residency requirement is currently waivedfor this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
