Position Overview & Schedule

The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of associates with an emphasis on safety, quality, team work, high employee morale and excellent productivity. This is a fully onsite role, and will be part of a team that is deeply committed to the mission and the joy of making great food. Opening:

  • 1st Shift: 5:30 AM - 4 PM (occasional weekends)

Essential Functions

Supervision of Production Associates

  • Participates in the hiring of new employees by conducting interviews and making offers
  • Proactively manages training, and coaching, and promotions for both new and existing employees
  • Takes ownership of employee turnover and takes proactive steps to improve retention
  • Evaluates performance and gives feedback both formally and informally (i.e. on-the-spot, discipline notices, performance reviews, etc.)
  • Conduct investigations related to employee complaints or errors
  • Demonstrates a strong knowledge of, adheres to, and enforces all company policies and procedures
  • Direct associates on daily priorities; consistently communicates and drives team toward company and department goals
  • Establishes and maintains a positive work environment, which sustains an exceptionally high level of Team Member morale
  • Ensures all food safety and safe quality food standards are consistently met
  • Communicates and maintains employee safety and security standards; responsible for the timely completion and investigation of all workers comp issues in their area

Collaboration

  • Establishes and maintains collaborative and productive working relationships with various departments (i.e. QA, Logistics, Sanitation, Maintenance, Growth & Development, Product Development); takes an active role in assuring customer demand is met
  • Assist in other departments where expertise may be required (i.e. sensory tests, processes implementation, brain storming, implementation of safety protocol)
  • Works with Production Scheduler to prioritize workload in order to manage labor hours to budget based on availability of ingredients, people, and customer demand

Reporting

  • Ensures the condition of the work areas are in order and in compliance with company policies
  • Ensures recordkeeping compliance related to achieving business objectives
  • Ensures accurate time keeping records in the punch/scheduling system
  • Prepares daily department reports
  • Analyzes reporting data and makes recommendations for improvement
  • Takes ownership of cost center labor budget

Other Duties, As Assigned

  • Ensures tasks are being performed according to standard procedures and regulations
  • Ensures necessary tools, supplies and equipment are ready and available to perform work tasks effectively
  • Ensures adequate inventory on hand to ensure production demands are met
  • Identifies, recommends, and implements measures to improve methods, equipment performance, and quality
  • Proactively manages consumption of ingredients, seeking ways to minimize waste and maximize efficiency
  • Demonstrates strong working knowledge of General Manufacturing Practices; takes proactive responsibility in adhering to Safe Quality Food (SQF) and food safety policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience, Education, Skills & Knowledge

  • 3-4 years’ supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 2-year degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment and effectively respond to changing production schedules
  • Goal-oriented approach to work, driving accountability throughout areas of responsibility
  • Demonstrates strong leadership skills that empowers a workforce
  • Ability to work with and coordinate cross-functional teams
  • Ability to analyze reports and performance metric data and recommend action plans for improvement
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Able to work the schedule listed above
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Comfortable with a moderate noise level
  • Able to work in an environment with peanuts and tree nuts

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
