Pathfinder's Ranch is Burke Center for Youth's residential treatment facility for 10-17 year old boys. Every resident who comes to us has been removed from his home due to trauma/neglect and associated behaviors. Through therapeutic activities and the daily interactions with people who truly want good things for these children, we feel that every story is a success story.

We are currently taking applications for Direct Care Staff (full time, days) to work with emotionally troubled teen boys. This work involves supervising and providing guidance for at-risk youth in a structured, supportive role in an outdoor ranch setting. The team members selected must be able to effectively communicate with the boys, other team members, volunteers, and the community. There are no physical disabilities with these boys, only behavioral issues.

This position is Entry level with paid training.
** $200 signing bonus and wage review after successful 90-day probationary period.

Must be 21 or older with a valid TX driver’s license and be a HS graduate.
-- Should have the size, strength and willingness to be able to control a teen male.
-- Should be able to pass background checks, drug screen, TB test.
-- Should be required to work at least one weekend day.
-- Should be able to endure a physically demanding environment, move over long distances, detect resident conversations, and observe resident's actions.
**Insurance and vacation benefits available for full time employees after 90-day probationary period.

Full time consists of three 14-hour shifts per week (that’s 40 hours 2 overtime hours each week), leaving 4 days off per week!

Lifeguard experience would be beneficial.
