Maniilaq Association is Hiring a Training coordinator Near Kotzebue, AK

POSITION SUMMARY

This position oversees thetraining, certification, credentialing, and skill development of the CommunityHealth Aide Program workforce.

They plan, organize and coordinate training to ensuretimely certification, licensure and credentialing of health aides andmedication technicians.

Has primary responsibility to ensure Medicaidenrollment and billability of CHA / Ps. This position works closely with MedicalStaff and other departments to coordinate health aide training and function asan adjunct field instructor in collaboration with the Community Health AideTraining Centers.

This position is based in Kotzebue but may require travel andallow for periods of remote work. This position reports directly to CHAPProgram Manager.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES

1.Serves as Maniilaq’sprimary point of contact with the Health Aide Training Centers, communicatingwith them regularly and securing health aide training opportunities for ManiilaqCHA / Ps.

2.Monitors andtracks health aide training eligibility requirements; submitting trainingapplications to Health Aide Training Centers and preparing students fortraining.

3.Organizes andhosts Pre-Session training and other appropriate CHA / P Session trainingopportunities in Kotzebue.

4.When necessary, coordinatesappropriate CME and / or skill development courses for health aides and medicationtechnicians.

5.Works with CHAPAdministration to plan and arrange the completion of Post Session LearningNeeds, Field Training Requirements, incomplete training assignments, biennialskills evaluations, and preceptorships.

6.Maintains appropriatedatabases and files with training / certification records for all CHA / Ps andMedication Technicians.

7.Prepares routinereports to the Program Manager and Health Aide Training Centers identifyingcurrent and future training needs for CHA / Ps.

8.Monitors currentand ongoing needs for re-entries and prepares CHA / Ps for re-entry evaluations.

9.Assist with the completionof annual competencies and recordkeeping for the CHA trainees and MedicationTechnicians.

10.Coordinatesapplications with Alaska Pacific University to graduate CHPs and achievecollege credits. Also assists Medication Technicians with available academic trainingopportunities.

11.Oversees Medicaidenrollment, National Provider Identifier registry, and effective billability ofCHAP workforce.

12.May participatein the AKCHAP Review & Approval Committee to ensure the educational qualityof certified training centers.

13.Participates inCHAP service team plan including planning, monitoring and data collection.

14.Will travel andfunction as a CHP to meet the minimum requirements for board certification.

Job Qualifications : MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma orequivalent. Must be a Board Certified Community Health Practitioner (CHP) ingood standing. Must possess strong organizational skills and ability tocommunicate professionally.

Must knowand follow the CHAP Certification Board Standards and Procedures.Knowledge of Inupiaq culture, language andcustoms preferred.

Must be innovativeand open to new ideas.Have a positiveoutlook and be able to interact with a diverse group of customers.

Dependable,open, honest, willing to take that extra minute to give feedback in a warm andcaring way. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
