Position SummaryThe Production Supervisor will be responsible for managing small work teams in a fast paced, high volume, manufacturing environment. The Production Supervisor is responsible for ensuring team safety; building teams and training / allocating manpower; driving and implementing continuous improvement solutions to improve product quality and reach throughput and cost targets; and ensuring team morale. This position reports to the Line Lead.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Ensure the production plan is met, analyzes issues with other roles, drives and implement continuous improvement activities and sustainability of solutions inside the zone
- Ensure a safe workplace, lead the team to improve safety in the area and enforces the use of mandated safety tools and procedures
- Understand losses during the shift
- Proactively analyze quality KPIs related to the area, prioritize quality issues and properly guides team leads
- Ensure the right allocation of the people on the line, manage absenteeism, train, and build teams
- Possess knowledge of the broader manufacturing organization and have the ability to mobilize support groups and resources to lead and assist in problem solving activities
- Perform other position related duties as assigned
- Minimum Age: 18 years old
- High School Diploma
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- While travel is unlikely, the ideal candidate will be able to travel, with reasonable prior notice as required (domestic and/or international)
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, or holidays as required
- Must have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with all levels of the organization
- Excellent organization skills and ability to multitask
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field
- 2 years' experience in supervision in a high volume environment
- Demonstrated ability to coach/mentor/develop team members
- Previous experience working in a union environment
- Experience in continuous improvement systems and lean manufacturing
- Ability to sit, walk and stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to work around the potential exposure to dust and chemicals
- Ability to wear appropriate PPE as deemed essential for the job function
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
