BASIC FUNCTION
Under general supervision with minimal to no assistance, performs a variety of tasks through the operation of equipment and / or assembly of products.
Position requires knowledge of good manufacturing practices, precision measurement instruments, basic PC skills, literacy, and mathematical skills.
The schedule is Day Shift : 6 : 00 AM to 2 : 30 PM Monday through Friday. Some overtime may be required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. Comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions as detailed on routings, drawing and / or procedures.
2. Load / unload machines to produce quality parts.
3. Maintain accurate documentation as required.
4. Maintain good housekeeping practices and area of responsibility is kept clean and orderly.
5. Must be able to use precision instruments for use in measurements and testing.
6. Train other operators as necessary.
7. Must be able to make slight adjusts to equipment as necessary to insure safety, quality and productivity.
8. Must maintain regular and punctual attendance.
9. Must understand, and abide by all plant rules and safety rules and regulations.
10. Actively participate in continuous improvement activities and the total quality management process.
11. Support all company goals and objectives.
12. Successfully pass all required job specific training per the departmental training matrix.
13. Housekeeping and other duties as assigned.
TOOLS USED
Calipers, micrometers, weight scale, tape measures, and other simple measuring devices.
EDUCATION REQUIRED
High School Diploma or GED
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Manufacturing related work
PHYSICAL SKILL AND EFFORT
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. on a regular basis. Must be able to work up to 12 hours standing and walking on cement surface and will be required to regularly bend, stretch, stoop, squat, climb ladders and perform work in confined positions.
Must be able to climb stairs and work in temperature ranges generally corresponding with the outside ambient temperatures or greater.
Yeager Eye Exam as applicable.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND HAZARDS
Will be exposed to noise, dust, dirt, welding fumes and lubricants and / or oils. Must be able and willing to work with and properly use all necessary and / or required personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, safety glasses, hearing protecting and protective clothing.
