Position description

The Ninth Judicial Circuit Court is seeking a Program Coordinator with a background working with youth and alternative court programs.

This position will manage the daily operation of the Teen Court Program which helps youth accept responsibility for their actions when sentenced by their peers.

The program is an alternative to the formal juvenile court process.

Some key responsibilities include ensuring that all aspects of the program are handled consistently, proficiently and with the utmost discretion in support of departmental goals and objectives.

Responsible for supervising the Teen Court staff, peer volunteers, and adult volunteers as well as arranging trainings for Teen Court attorneys, court deputies, trial clerks, jurors, and local bar association to serve as judges.

Duties will include supervising juvenile offenders in compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulatory requirements.

The administrative functions of the program include data entry, case management functions, documentation verification, various correspondence, develop and generate material for speaking engagements and official correspondence;

Communicates official plans, policies, procedures, and workload to staff, which includes training and evaluations. Attend meetings for the dissemination of information and perform assigned or necessary duties which are related or logical in assignment to the position.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, be able to work closely with others, be detail oriented, ability to prioritize work and have a proven ability to adhere to strict confidentiality in the workplace.

The role demands excellent computer skills and an ability to quickly acquire and work proficiently with a variety of computer programs.

Must have superior organizational skills and a capacity to interact professionally and effectively with others, to include coworkers, government officials, law enforcement, youth and their families, and other outside agency staff.

Knowledge of Teen Court case management and rehabilitation principles, practices, procedures, terminology, and systems are a plus.

Knowledge of pertinent federal, state, and local rules, regulations, and ordinances, as well as available community resources and social services This position is Osceola County funded with benefits and will be located at the Osceola County Courthouse.
