ACCOUNTING ANALYST

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for assisting with numerous aspects of the daily accounting and finance operations process. Also responsible for directly assisting the Manager, Accounting with special projects in addition to the on-going preparation of close and reporting deliverables, as well as, supporting audit materials.

• Supports various finance operational roles in accounts receivable, billing/order processing and accounting.
• Assists with regulatory compliance in accounting, including assistance in audit support preparation.
• Assists with Salesforce data analysis and report writing.
• Assists with month-end close procedures in Salesforce and Lawson.
• Reconciles assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts in a timely manner.
• Prepares journal entries as necessary to ensure completeness and accuracy of systems supporting financial operations.
• Assists with the development, documentation, and maintenance of finance operations policies and procedures.
• Assists with the preparation of schedules and other records for the annual independent audit and for other examinations as needed.
• Performs special projects as required by Finance department management.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists in the accomplishment of Insperity Company goals.
• Helps other employees to accomplish Insperity Company goals.
• Performs other duties as may be assigned by department supervisor.
• Participates in the Disaster Recovery plan as required.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field (preferably in accounting) is required. 
• Three to five years of accounting/finance experience is required. 

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS

• Extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data compilation and analysis.

• Strong attention to detail and initiative.

• Working knowledge of reconciliation procedures and methods, double entry bookkeeping, financial accounting internal control policies and procedures and accounting/financial software applications.

• Familiar with modern office methods, practices, procedures and equipment including computerized accounting systems and spreadsheet software. Must display an ability to plan, organize and complete work in a timely manner.

• Communicates tactfully and effectively, verbally and in writing, and maintains effective work relations with those encountered in the course of employment.
