Busy collision center looking for an experienced auto body repair technician. Must have your own tools available to use. Responsibilities will include removing, repairing and replacing damaged body parts and bodies of vehicles in accordance with factory and dealership specifications using hand tools and power tools. Specific hourly pay will be discussed at interview and is based on experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

• Repairs vehicles per estimate and according to manufacturer standards.
• Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic window-and-seat-operating equipment, and trim to gain access to vehicle body and fenders.
• Prepares vehicles for body work.
• Fill depressions with body filler.
• Remove damaged fenders, panels, hoods, etc.
• Bolt or weld replacement parts in position, using wrenches or welding equipment.
• Straighten bent automobile frames.
• File, grind and sand repaired surfaces.
• Refinish repaired surface.
• Aim headlights, align wheels, and bleed hydraulic brake system.
• Paint surfaces after performing body repairs.
• Repair or replace defective mechanical parts.
• Notifies management of any difficulties or problems that may prevent a quality job from being performed or cause a change in the promised time.
• Notifies management of any additional repairs needed.
• Maintains tools and equipment in a proper state of repair.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Three to five years of experience as a vehicle body repairer or apprentice.
• Working knowledge of all aspects of repairs for damaged body parts and bodies of vehicles.
• Experience in frame repair on and off the frame rack.
• Experience in heavy hit repair.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to interpret vendor catalogs.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
