Overview:

We are seeking a motivated retail manager who is a self starter with a solid work ethic to manage and operate our Washington Memorial Chapel Cabin Shop Cafe in the heart of Valley Forge National Historical Park. Our top priority is that the Cabin Shop is one of the primary "faces" of Washington Memorial Chapel. Those who visit the Cabin Shop should feel connected to the Chapel and Valley Forge. Delivering exceptional customer service and driving sales in the Cabin Shop, is therefore, of highest priority.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee daily operations of the Cabin Shop Cafe, ensuring efficient and effective functioning.
- Manage and motivate a team of staff and volunteers to provide excellent customer service/aid in the tourist experience of the Chapel and Valley Forge.
- Develop and implement strategies to maximize sales and profitability
- Recruit, train, and conduct employee and volunteer orientations
- Maintain inventory control (Square for Retail) and ensure stock levels are adequate
- Utilize POS system (Square for Retail) for transactions and reporting
- Negotiate with suppliers for favorable terms
- Implement organizational policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and the overall guest experience.

Requirements:

- Proven experience in retail management with a focus on customer service/Guest Experience and sales management.
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to recruit, train, and lead a team effectively
- Proficiency in inventory control and merchandising techniques
- Knowledge of Square for Retail and other retail software applications (Excel, Google Sheets, etc.)
- Strong organizational skills to manage store operations effectively
