Junior Database Analyst

QUALIFICATIONS:

• The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented with practical experience in understanding and communicating information

• The candidate must be motivated to provide timely results that meet business objectives while working well with other technical disciplines

• The candidate must have experience working with a BI Tools, strong SQL skills, and experience with other Microsoft technologies (SSAS, SSIS, and SSRS)

• Strong proficiency with SQL and its variations amongst popular databases

• Ability to debug and optimize large complicated SQL statements

• Experience with ETL tools (SSIS, ADF, etc.)

• Experience with different versions of MS SQL Server (SQL server 2016,2017,2019 and 2022)

• Knowledge of best practices for creating reports/dashboards

• Has worked in a team-oriented enterprise environment

• Can multi-task and prioritize requests

• Must be detail-oriented and logical

• Excellent problem-solving skills

• Passion to succeed and continually improve skills and exceed customer expectations

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collect and maintain business reporting requirements.

• Implement BI reports (SSRS) based on requirements.

• Analyze existing reports and optimize them for standardization across the company.

• Set up and maintain BI tools, infrastructure, and integration with company data sources.

• Work with DBA, developers, and clients. Propose data schema and data flow optimization for reporting performance and enhancement as needed.

• Design, build and deploy Data Warehouses and Cubes, reports, dashboards, queries, and data visualizations

• Develop and update technical documentation

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 

• Experience coding SQL Server

• Proven experience as an ETL developer with strong data architecture (SSIS, ADF or other third-party integration tools)

• Understanding of Database design and implementation

• Ability to credit/edit/debug stored procedures and complex queries

• Ability to understand the business process and create process flow diagrams

• Experience in creating and managing technical documents

• Positive customer-service mindset

• Knowledge of data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modelling) and data mining

• In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework

• Familiarity with BI technologies (e.g. PowerBI, SSRS, Tableau)
