Keys’ Meads is looking for an ultra rare sort of individual to join our team for a couple days during the week. Bonus points given for a flexible schedule. We attend a lot of fairs and festivals so we need someone dependable to cover the storefront bartending while other staff is working events. Our current fair season is November and Jan-March. The rest of the year is very flexible if you'd like time off.

We are a small business making honey wine and other spirits derived from honey. The primary job for this position is giving informative, engaging experiences to our customers that leaves them with a lifelong appreciation for our products.

The person we’re looking for possesses unique abilities, like cleaning glassware before serving customers and wiping down counters. Someone who can work in an environment that doesn’t make everyone feel like the only way to communicate effectively is with passive aggressive notes plastered all over the place.

Showing up to work on time is a must, as you’ll be trusted to open and close independently. We have a casual dress code and prioritize a welcoming customer atmosphere.

Making jokes about a drink called Sour Dick is almost mandatory and you’ll need to be able to complete tasks without chasing every squirrel that happens across your path (just kidding, we’re not great about that either and pretty forgiving about that sort of thing). Customer service is the most important part of this job, so being able to interact with customers in an educational and fun way is going to directly impact how much you earn here.

We will teach you everything you need to know about our products, how we make them, and the history of mead. If you like alcohol and like honey you’ll probably like it here. Always winning at games like cards against humanity? We’re your people.

Our drink menu is easy to guide customers through a first time experience, but if creative freedom to make your own drink menu is your jam we’ll stock your bar to make your own specials and promotions.

You’ll be expected to function independently during both slow and busy times. Slow times is when you do those mind blowing tasks that get the room ready for customers, like sweeping and restocking shelves. During busy times you’ll be doing tastings for groups of people and making drinks.

Boring stuff:
Base pay is $12 plus tips. Pay can go up $1/mo stacking up to three months ($15/hr) based on performance. Bartenders that provide fun, engaging experiences can expect to regularly earn $23 /hr. Weekend shifts regularly earn $31 /hr.

We’re looking for someone wanting to work weekends and can possibly provide more hours moving forward if requested. The tasting room is open 12-8 Mon-Sat and 12-6 Sundays.
