Description

Summary : Performs activities associated with the production of glass and aluminum systems; coupled with the operation of a variety of machines to manufacture parts for customers by performing the following duties :

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following :

  • Able to layout, build and assemble projects.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems.
  • Completes jobs / projects on-time, under budget and at 100% quality.
  • Demonstrates the ability to perform job to specifications.
  • Demonstrates the ability to use quality tools to verify conformance of material to specifications.
  • Inspects and measures parts to verify and enforce quality conformance to specifications.
  • Inspects product for blemishes or non-conformities.
  • Ensures all safety procedures and company policies are followed. Ensures that all protective equipment (guards, PPE - including respirator, dust masks, etc.

are used at each step of the job.

  • Ensures job is documented with pictures.
  • Ensures job work area is maintained at a high state of cleanliness.
  • Ensures that quality is 100% each step of the fabrication process.
  • Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
  • Maintains a positive attitude.
  • Overtime hours are often required to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Provides suggestions and feedback for continuous process improvement.
  • Reworks products which fail to meet quality standards.
  • Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications.

Education / Experience :

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near power hand tools. The employee is occasionally exposed to humid conditions (non-weather).

Required physical strength :

  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. Frequently.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Occasionally.
  • Must be able to assist with team lifting of loads in excess of 50lbs Occasionally.
  • Must be able to work on your feet including, standing for the entire length of the shift, which are up to 10 hours.
  • Must be able to work in and around manufacturing and production equipment, which includes frequently climbing ladders, bending, stooping, standing, walking, twisting, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Must be able to see / hear to visually and audibly acknowledge critical safety instructions, alarms, forklift traffic, perform quality inspections, and equipment inspections.
  • Must be able to sustain repetitive movement of the upper and lower extremities with varying degrees of force.
  • Must be able to push, pull up to 100 pounds of force on a regular basis, including moving pallets, carts, glass / plastic sheets, and boxes using a hand truck or other similar equipment.
