Job Details
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced System Administrator to join our team. This role is integral to the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, particularly in managing network servers and technology tools. You will be responsible for designing, organizing, modifying, and supporting our company's computer systems.
Responsibilities:
1. Install, upgrade, and monitor software and hardware.
2. Maintain servers, networks, and cloud environments.
3. Oversee system performance and troubleshoot issues.
4. Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems.
5. Provide technical support for both hardware and software issues our users encounter.
6. Manage the configuration and operation of client-based computer operating systems.
7. Monitor the system daily and respond immediately to security or usability concerns.
8. Create and verify backups of data.
9. Respond to and resolve help desk requests.
10. Upgrade systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution.
11. Administrate infrastructure, including firewalls, databases, malware protection software and other processes.
12. Install and test computer-related equipment.
Qualifications:
1. Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in system administration.
3. Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN), and patch management.
4. Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery.
5. Ability to create scripts in Python, Perl or other language.
6. Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms.
7. Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude.
8. Excellent communication skills.
9. BSc/Ba in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline; professional certification (e.g. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)) is a plus.
