John T. Jones Construction Co. is looking for an excavator operator for various water and wastewater projects (specifically Kearney, NE, Milford, IA, Yankton, SD, etc.) throughout the upper midwest.

Duties/Qualifications:

• Assist in aligning, positioning & connecting underground pipe (pvc, ductile iron pipe, etc)
• Excavator operator experience (emphasis on DEEP excavations)
• Experience in digging around utilities required
• Connect pipe pieces and seal joints, using welding equipment, cement, glue, fittings, etc.
• Cover pipes with earth or other materials.
• Cut pipes to required lengths.
• Dig trenches to required depths
• Grade and level trench bases, using tamping machines and hand tools.
• Assist in the Installing and repairing sanitary and stormwater sewer structures and pipe systems.
• Assist in laying out pipe routes, following written instructions or blueprints, and coordinating layouts with supervisors.
• Tap and drill holes into pipes to introduce auxiliary lines or devices.
• General construction labor work, including concrete
• Operating heavy equipment depending experience including excavator, skid steer, forklift, etc.
• All other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.00 - $38.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
