Towel City Tavern is a modern bbq brewpub that specializes in smoked meats and southern staples. Our core values are focused on a positive culture, a healthy work environment, and service. We are only open from 5-10pm, working nights and weekends are mandatory.

The Dishwasher/Porter is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc., using machine and manual cleaning methods. This position also ensures the cleanliness of the kitchen and dining areas, restrooms, and other back-of-house and front-of-house areas. The ideal candidate is a team player with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate a dishwashing machine to clean dishes, glasses, flatware, pots, and pans.
• Scrub pots and pans and wash any items that may not fit into the dishwasher.
• Ensure all items are sanitized and stored properly.
• Cleaning and Maintenance:
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas, including floors, counters, and restrooms.
• Take out trash, compost, and recycling, ensuring disposal areas are kept clean and organized.
• Sweep, mop, and perform routine cleaning tasks as needed.
• Stocking and Organization:
• Ensure all cleaning supplies are stocked and organized.
• Assist with the unloading and storage of deliveries, ensuring items are stored in an organized manner.
• Monitor inventory levels and inform management when supplies need to be reordered.
• Assist kitchen staff with food preparation and other tasks as needed.
• Assist with setting up and breaking down dining areas for service.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the kitchen manager or supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs).
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
