The responsibilities of the Lab Assistant for Harbor Farmz broadly embrace the key areas described below. The Lab Assistant will assist Laboratory staff with daily tasks, facilitating the extraction and processing of plant materials. The Lab Assistant will also monitor and maintain stock inventory levels. This position supports other duties in the Lab as assigned to help maintain a consistent, high-quality medical cannabis line fully consistent with Harbor Farmz Standard Operating Procedures.

Duties/Authority:

• Assist with the extraction and processing of plant materials in accordance with state standards
• Prepares material and media for extraction.
• Assists with packaging and labeling of products.
• May assist with quality control testing and procedures to ensure a consistent high-quality product
• Utilizes laboratory equipment according to SOPs and follows all safety guidelines
• Maintains inventory including re-stocking chemicals, parts and other various laboratory supplies
• Utilize digital tracking systems to maintain compliance
• Performs other duties as assigned in a timely fashion

Responsibilities:

• Maintain a respectful and business-like work environment; be responsible for maintaining a culture of security within the laboratory team and must be familiar with and remain vigilant to security concerns. Maintain a serious, positive and team-oriented approach to Security. Report any security concerns or breaches immediately to designated person(s)
• Maintain an organized, clean and safe workplace. Check for and identify potential issues and notify Harbor Farmz Leadership immediately of any concerns
• Maintain regulatory compliance with all state and local regulations
• Assist with day-to-day extractions and laboratory tasks
• Monitor the closed loop hydrocarbon system during each run performed.
• Willingness to cross train.

Qualifications:

• Associates degree preferred; will consider other applicants with equivalent cannabis knowledge/experience
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Knowledge of current technologies and methodologies and demonstrated ability to ensure compliance with applicable protocols
• Strong interpersonal skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines
• Good personal hygiene, physical aptitude and health necessary to perform manual labor tasks required; ability to lift up to forty pounds
• Ability to think on your feet and use problem solving skills when the situation arises
• Strong history of meeting performance goals and being accountable
• The candidate must pass the state required background check and will have a high security clearance within the company
• Must have reliable transportation
