Taurus Plumbing & Exavating, Inc. is Hiring an Excavator Operator Near Juab, UT

Looking for experienced heavy-equipment operator with at least 2 years of experience. This position requires the safe and efficient operation of various construction equipment including, but not limited to, loaders, backhoes, track hoes, loaders, dozers, scrapers, and skid steers.

Candidates should be able to read and understand blueprints and grade stakes. Must be self-motivated, on-time, able to work under pressure with an ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all co-workers, supervisors and customers.

Must be able to work overtime if needed.

This position provides a competitive compensation and benefits package including health insurance, IRA, and paid vacation.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operate all heavy equipment including earth movers, bulldozers, front-end loaders, track hoes, loaders, dozers, scrapers, skid steers and other related equipment.
  • Perform periodical safety, maintenance or servicing checks to ensure proper functioning of the equipment.
  • Responsible for safe slopes on excavations and proper barricading.
  • Locate utilities and other buried lines prior to digging.
  • Perform minor servicing and maintenance and refer major problems to the supervisor.
  • Knowledge of trenching and shoring standards.
  • Keep time and material records on a daily basis.
  • Knowledge of aggregate sizes and classifications.
  • Knowledge of weight requirements of loads leaving the pit.
  • May perform physical tasks involved with laying pipes and/or assisting Laborers at various job sites as needed.
  • Work in adherence to safe practices, procedures, worksite or traffic laws.
  • Perform other duties, as and when assigned.

Knowledge Requirement

A heavy equipment operator must possess knowledge to perform his/her job satisfactorily. The essential criteria must include the knowledge of:

  • Heavy equipment operation
  • Maintenance and repair of heavy and power-driven equipment
  • New methods and techniques of operation and the parts of the equipment
  • GPS skill knowledge or ability to learn to operate equipment with GPS.
  • Workplace safety practices for heavy construction related jobs.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred.

  • Flexible to work during odd hours

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $33.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
