To facilitate all areas of the Mom’s House/client relations and to ensure that all local, state and federal regulations are being followed regarding safety, health and childcare licensing. This includes maintaining accurate and up-to-date records on the staff, volunteers, clients and children. In addition, the Program Director will ensure that the mission of Mom’s House is being fulfilled in the classrooms.
A Bachelor’s Degree including, or in addition to, 12 credit hours in Early Childhood, Child Development or related field. In addition, the candidate must have at least three years of administrative experience in a childcare center or other early childhood program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Implement the mission and philosophy of Mom’s House
· Ensure all applicable licensing regulations are met and that all safety and health regulations are being followed and maintained and all paperwork is kept current at all times
· Act as a mentor and advisor to the Mom’s House staff and clients
· Interview prospective program applicants and assist with application completion
· Schedule monthly client workshops on information that is relevant to them
· Set educational standards and goals based on current best practices and age appropriate activities,
· Help establish policies and procedures following regulations and best practices.
· Monitor assessment process of children’s development twice annually
· Conduct monthly fire drills and biannual shelter in place drills with required documentation
· Oversee classroom teachers and volunteer needs include break schedules, assistance for behavioral needs, and hands on staff training as needed
· Complete weekly staff and child scheduling following Department of Labor requirements and OCFS Regulations
· Orient, train, supervise and evaluate teaching staff as needed and ongoing
· Maintain parent and child records and monitor required documentation
· Monitor and maintain daily attendance and health records
· Develop and monitor client service time and fundraising time schedule and duties.
· Help determine supplies, materials, and equipment needs of program and teachers
· Speak on behalf of Mom’s House to media and community groups when needed
· Keep accident reports
· Maintain confidentiality sharing information only with the Executive Director unless written consent is provided
· Assist in developing in-service and staff meeting trainings and monitor in-service requirements for each teaching staff member and volunteers
· Co-organize and direct staff meetings along with Executive Director with the goal of improving the Mom’s House childcare program
· Behave in a professional caring manner towards all staff, clients, volunteers, and community members
· Oversee CACFP government-run food program – recording, reporting, preparing menu and meals when needed – in compliance with CACFP regulations
· Prepare afternoon snack following CACFP guidelines including documentation and clean up
· Complete closing procedures at the end of each day
· Other duties as assigned
