Stanton County Sheriff's Office is Hiring a Deputy Sheriff Near Johnson, KS

The Stanton County Sheriff's Office is looking for a motivated individual to fill a full time deputy sheriff position. Applicants are required to be at least 21 years of age, have a high school diploma/GED, a valid drivers license, pass a drug and alcohol screening, pass a physical, have no felony or domestic violence history, have no mental health adjudications, and be willing to move and live within the county. Previous law enforcement experience is preferred but not required. Deputies are provided uniforms, equipment, and a take home vehicle. Hourly pay starts at $16.50 for non certified applicants and scales with experience. Hourly pay increases to $17.00 after successful graduation from KLETC.

Must be allowed to legally own and possess a firearm.

Responsibilities:

  • Enforce criminal law and protect lives and property
  • Patrol the rural and urban areas within the county
  • Assist local emergency services i.e. Emergency Management, Fire, and EMS
  • Investigate criminal complaints, crime scenes, and traffic accidents
  • Complete reports in a thorough and timely manner
  • Interact with the community in a positive and respectful manner
  • Book and process arrestees

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
