State of Missouri is Hiring a Regulatory Auditor (Investigations) Near Jefferson City, MO

Starting Salary: $44,011.68

Job Location: This position is located at the Harry S Truman State Office Building, 301 W High Street, Jefferson City, Missouri.

Why is the work you do in this position important to Missouri?

This is important and rewarding work in the Consumer Affairs Division of DCI protecting the insurance buying public. This person would work within a team of Complaint Investigators and would handle related complaints against producers, licensees and/or insurers.

What will you do in this position?

  • Apply working knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to the business of insurance, service contracts, and bail bonds.
  • Apply knowledge of industry standards for investigations.
  • Review and investigate complaints made against insurance producers, business entity producers, other licensees, unlicensed individuals and entities who are suspected of operating without a valid license and/or violating insurance laws.
  • Self-direct the investigative caseload, by opening and maintaining cases in the web based case management system with minimal intervention.
  • Determine scope of and conduct an investigation, knowledge of principles of identification, preservation and presentation of evidence to write clear and concise reports.
  • Use knowledge of interviewing techniques, including effective methods of obtaining information from hostile or reluctant witnesses. Contact witnesses and public officials under conditions requiring tact and good judgment.

What are the qualifications for the position?

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and 0-1 year of experience with specialization in insurance, risk management, business or public administration or closely related areas. Substitutions may be allowed.
  • Working knowledge of applicable insurance statutes and regulations as well as industry standards.
  • Proficient with common computer applications.
  • Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
