Hours: 1st Shift Mon.-Fri. (shifts could vary as 8, 10, or 12-hours per day depending on patient need) | No Supervisory Responsibilities | No Travel | Pay commensurate with experience
PRN position in Imaging
Position Summary: To operate radiologic equipment to produce radiographs of the Body for diagnostic purposes as directed by radiologists.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
Education: Satisfactory completion of a formal radiologic technology training program that is AMA approved and meets the requirements of the American registry of Radiologic Technologist or its equivalent.
Experience: At least one year of radiology experience is preferred, but a less experienced applicant would be considered.
License/Certifications:
  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) or registry eligible. If registry eligible, must be a graduate.
  • BLS certification.
Essential Functions:
  1. Properly identifies all patients prior to exam. Serves all patients that are referred to the department for radiologic examination.
  2. Positions patient on examination table and adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified area of body requested by physician.
  3. Properly acquires images that comply with departmental standards of high quality.
  4. Explains procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
  5. Moves x ray equipment into specified position and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors based on knowledge of radiographic exposure techniques and protocol.
  6. Operate mobile x ray equipment in operating room, emergency room, or at patients' bedside.
  7. Knowledge of improvement process plan.
  8. Must be reliable for "on call" status.
  9. Complies and knows charging process and makes appropriate changes when necessary.
  10. Documents and submits all pertinent clinical information to the Radiologist prior to the patient leaving the department.
  11. Follows all Department Routines for exams and documents reasons for not following the routine views.
  12. Scans and documents all medications and allergies in Meditech as required by policy.
  13. Knowledge of all special procedures in area.
  14. Exhibits a pleasant disposition and maintains a professional attitude in the workplace.
  15. Show a willingness to cross train and strives to continually improve or develop them.
  16. Knowledge of PACS system and how to operate make appropriate changes prior to sending to the Radiologist, and make CDs.
  17. Actively looks for other duties to perform when patient volumes are down.
  18. Performs other duties as assigned.
Must be willing to receive all required vaccinations (i.e., flu shot, etc.).
