EXAMINATION IS ANNOUNCED TO ESTABLISH AN EMPLOYMENT LIST TO FILL ONE (1) CURRENT EAST JEFFERSON VACANCY IN THE DEPARTMENT OF JEFFERSON COMMUNITY ACTION PROGRAM AND FUTURE VACANCIES AS THEY OCCUR.

The purpose of this position is to provide technical assistance and support to participating school sites and/or districts in their training of teachers, nurses, food service workers, and other program staff on promotion of nutrition education, contract requirements, and program related materials. Employee develops nutrition education materials, nutrition lesson plans, newsletters, healthy recipes and food demonstrations, and other modules for activities to promote better nutrition and physical activities. Conducts site visits to ensure proper integration of training materials and compliance to USDA guidelines; as well as collects, reviews, and compiles fiscal and program information from participating school sites and/or districts into reports for state. Employee acts as a liaison between the state and Louisiana Department of Education and the USDA food and nutrition program. Develops and/or monitors nutrition program budget and contracts; and performs other related duties as assigned. Position requires driving of a personal vehicle, thus possession of a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and personal automobile with minimum liability insurance available for business use (business travel is reimbursed on a mileage basis) will be given preference.

The examination may consist of a written test, a rating of training and experience, an oral panel interview or any combination thereof. Acceptable applicants will be notified of the time, date, and place of any assembled testing. Applicants must supply complete and accurate information concerning their training and experience including a detailed description of their work experience, the names and addresses of all previous employers and the dates of employment.
