Furnitureland South, Inc. is Hiring a Facility Services Manager Near Jamestown, NC

  • Support and supervise the housekeeping department.
  • See that the interiors of the buildings are properly maintained.
  • Interview and screen new applicants for the department.
  • Monitor and approve personal time off for each associate in the department.
  • Monitor attendance and punctuality of the department and update files accordingly.
  • Verify the department’s weekly payroll sheets and make corrections as needed.
  • Acquire and distribute the biweekly direct deposit check stubs to the supervisor in each building.
  • All counseling and counseling reviews must be done by Facility Service manager.
  • Check with each Team Leader daily to see if they need any assistance in their area.
  • Make sure that the Team Leader monitors the inventory levels of housekeeping supplies, place orders, and restock. This also applies to monitoring the inventory levels of coffee, sugar, creamer, filters, cups and stirs for the coffee stations. Places order with the purchasing department and then restock.
  • Work with the Team Leaders in training the proper housekeeping procedures to the new associates.
  • Wear the Kenwood radio and monitor channel 8 (Housekeeping and Maintenance Channel). Respond to any incoming calls for the department.
  • There is full responsibility for the safe actions of associates and the safe performance of machines and equipment within the department. Full authority is given to enforce the provisions of the safety policy to keep injury and loses to an absolute minimum.
  • Blank copies of the accident report should be on kept on hand in case of an accident.
  • In case of an accident, complete an accident report, forward to immediate supervisor, and report all accidents to Human Resources.
  • Hold safety seminars for the department relating to fire extinguishers, evacuations, severe weather procedures, proper lifting procedures, etc.
  • Be open to suggest any ideas for improvement.
  • Arrive punctually and consistently for work for normally scheduled hours.
  • Perform various related duties as required.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Other duties assigned by supervisor.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent and five years’ management experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Be highly organized.

This job operates in a professional work environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as scanners, computers, photocopiers and smartphones.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary
