Company Overview: Heartwood Biomass is a pioneering company in the biomass utilization industry, recognized nationally for innovation in this space. Our mission is to restore forests and revitalize rural communities by converting forest restoration byproducts, typically small diameter wood, into valuable and profitable products, such as firewood, post & pole, wood straw and biochar, thus contributing to wildfire mitigation and forest health.

We currently have one mill in Wallowa, Oregon which we opened in Q1, 2021 and we are about to launch a second mill in Jamestown, CA (Tuolumne Biomass). With a phased startup, and construction expected to be complete by the fall of 2024, the first operations will begin by July 1, 2024. The General Manager will play a key role in the facility’s startup and operational success.

As a leader in forest restoration, we are expanding our operations and seeking a strategic and experienced General Manager to join our management team. This role will provide a fantastic opportunity for an individual to play a significant leadership role in making biomass mills profitable as well as having significant positive impact on the landscape and jobs in the rural West.

Qualifications to Propel Your Success:

• Proven manufacturing leadership in forest products or related industries.
• Excellent team building, problem-solving, and interpersonal expertise.
• Lean manufacturing training and capital project management ($2M ) preferred.
• Entrepreneurial spirit with a track record of innovating products and processes.
• Persuasive communicator with outstanding presentation and stakeholder skills.
• 3-5 years facility management experience.
• Preference for BS in Business, Forestry, Engineering, or related field but not necessary.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
