We are looking to bring on a Registered Dietician to work with our exceptional staff and residents.

At Laurel Ridge we are committed to enhancing the lives of our residents as we’ve recognized that the difference is in the details, therefore we invest as much time and energy in our setting as we do in the care we provide. Our mission is to provide a bridge between inpatient care and home for our short-term residents and to achieve and maintain the highest possible level of functioning for each of our long-term residents.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Dietician with the Commission on Dietetic Registration
  • Preferred but not required-Licensed Dietician/Nutritionist with the Commonwealth of MA
  • Preferred but not required-ServSafe Certification
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in long-term care with varied responsibilities in clinical dietetics
  • Familiarity of pertinent legal codes which include but are not limited to: Federal regulations for Medicare and Medicaid: Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) standards; state or local codes for food sanitation
  • Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity and ability to work effectively with personnel and support agencies
  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday and travel to sister Center in Brighton, MA
  • Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset people within the facility

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dietitian to join our team. As a Dietitian, you will play a crucial role in assessing resident's nutritional needs and developing personalized diet plans to promote their overall health and well-being. Your expertise will be essential in providing guidance and support to our residents in achieving their nutritional goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Asses the dietary requirements of each resident admitted to the Center and assist the attending physician in planning for the resident's prescribed diet plan.
  • Develop and evaluate regular and therapeutic diets including the texture of foods and liquids to meet the specialized needs of residents.
  • Review and develop a plan of correction for any food and nutrition services deficiencies noted during state/federal surveys and provide a written copy of such plan to the Executive Director for approval.
  • Monitor resident's progress and make adjustments to diet plans as necessary.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care and effective treatment plans.
  • Stay current on the latest research and developments in the field of nutrition and incorporate evidence-based practices into resident care.
  • Maintain communication with families and residents.
  • Assist the Infection Prevention and Control Committee in the development, implementation and revision of food safety and sanitation procedures as necessary.
  • Skills:
  • In-depth understanding of human physiology and its relationship to nutrition
  • Must be knowledgeable of dietary practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing dietary functions in the nursing facility.
  • Proficient in conducting patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively educate and counsel residents on proper nutrition.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Empathy and compassion for individual needs and challenges.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $29.00 - $32.00 per hour
