Addison Group is Hiring a Construction Engineer Near Itasca, IL

Civil Construction Engineer
Location: Chicago, IL
Salary: $75,000 - $125,000
Primary Duties
  • Serve as construction engineer/project engineer for roadway/transportation projects for IDOT, Tollway, or Local Agency (Municipality, Divisions of Transportation) projects, either locally-funded or state/federally-funded
  • Communicate with clients, contractors, and staff on various roadway construction projects
  • Observe contractor progress on day to day activities for any and all work being performed including (but not limited to): excavation, curb and gutter removal/replacement, HMA and PCC paving, sidewalk removal/replacement, underground utility installation (storm sewer, water main, sanitary sewer, etc.), traffic signal installation and modernization, and all other aspects of a road/highway construction project.
  • Prepare inspector daily reports (IDRs)
  • Use of GPS equipment to verify elevations and locations to check contractor layout
  • Jobsite travel required – personal vehicle lease or company vehicle based on experience
  • Company cellular phone (Android or Apple operating system) and laptop will be provided
Experience Requirements
  • 2 years (min) design engineering experience in the field of roadway/highway construction
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Fully Eligible to Work in U.S.
  • 2 years professional engineering experience
  • IDOT Documentation Certified (preferred)
  • Licensed Engineer Intern (preferred)
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (with experience over 5 years)
  • Excellent written and oral communications
  • Excellent organizational and management skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with ICORS/CMMS software programs
