Location: Orcus Island, San Juan County

Full time; Flexible Scheduling

Salary Range: $23.00 - $29.90* DOE

*Hiring Range: $23.00 - $26.45 DOE

Position Summary: ​Sherwood's Career and Community Connections Program is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as an Employment Specialist. In this position, you will play a pivotal role to empower individuals with disabilities, and help them achieve meaningful and sustainable employment opportunities that align with their vocational aspirations.

Responsibilities include building strong rapport with program participants, assisting with resume creation and job applications, engaging with prospective employers to facilitate hiring, offering support during the interview process, and providing guidance during on-the-job training. This position does require you to be on-site with program participants. Rest assured, comprehensive training will be provided to equip you for success in this rewarding position.

Qualifications: A high school diploma or GED is required. To excel in this role, we prefer at least one year of hands-on experience in vocational settings or a year in the human services field. We also value related experience that showcases your dedication to making a difference in people's lives, including retail and customer service.

What sets you apart is your exceptional ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Your knack for keeping impeccable records and documentation will be crucial in this role. We're looking for someone who can think outside the box to tailor services that cater to the unique needs and aspirations of the individuals we serve. A valid WA state driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to your own vehicle is required to get the job done. We offer a competitive mileage reimbursement rate. A thorough background check is part of the hiring process.
