WHO we’re looking for:
We are looking for a Pega Architect who will be responsible for supporting Scrum teams and ensuring code developed follows Pega best practices, considering future re-usability, maintainability, performance, etc.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Creating Proof of Concepts.
- Designing new applications/workflows.
- Performing code review/LSA review for all stories completed by developers.
- Providing guidance to the team regarding development approach.
- Providing guidance to developers when help is needed to troubleshoot / resolve an issue.
- Identifying technical debt / future improvement
- Identifying new Pega features which can be used to improve current situation.
- Support production releases when needed.
Required Experience and Education:
- 10 years of Total IT experience with database and client server design/development.
- 5 years' experience in handling business process automation projects using Pega platform.
- 5 years' experience scoping, planning and delivering projects in Agile methodology.
- Bachelor's Degree
- Pega LSA certification.
- Ideally, experience working in Pega 8.6 or 8.7 (target version). Must have experience working in Pega 8.x. Lower versions are very different, so 7.x experience only is not going to be sufficient to support the program needs.
- Experience using Pega in a headless implementation pattern.
- Must be able to talk though pros and cons of building natively in Pega vs. calling Pega API headlessly. We expect that our ideal solution will need to leverage both patterns.
- Many LSAs have a bias towards only building natively in Pega, so this broader view of solution architecture and ability to recommend the best pattern for a specific scenario is going to be critical.
- Expertise and good understanding of Relational Database Management Systems including architecting and designing for performance and scalability and working with Object to Relational Mapping schemes for distributed data access.
- Experience in Web technologies including Servlets, JSP, and XML. Should have hands-on experience in developing web applications.
- Experience in client-side technologies like HTML, Java Script, CSS
- Experience working with any of the Servlet containers or Enterprise containers like Jakarta tomcat, BEA Web logic, IBM WebSphere JBOSS. Should have knowledge in using any of the mentioned servers like deployment, configuring & troubleshooting.
- Knowledge in web services, JMS, Middleware tools (like Web Methods, Vitria), Web frameworks (like Struts, spring), Design Patterns (like MVC I, MVC II, etc.)
- Knowledge of components for enterprise architecture like enterprise beans is a plus.
Necessary Skills and Attributes:
- Self-motivated individual with the ability to thrive in a team-based or independent environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organization skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Limited supervision and the exercise of discretion.
- Solid fundamentals in Core Java & Object-Oriented concepts.
- Excellent skills in any of the RDBMS tools like Oracle, MSSQL, DB2 or Sybase. Should be proficient in SQL commands.

Performs work under time schedules and stress which are normally periodic or cyclical, including time sensitive deadlines, intellectual challenge, some language barriers, and project management deadlines. May require working additional time beyond normal schedule and periodic travel.
