The Paul F. Doyon Memorial School is anticipating the need for a full-time Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA). The SLPA will work with students with communication and related disorders while under the supervision of a licensed Speech and Language Therapist.Duties include:Provide service as specified in IEP plans developed by SLPDirect services to students may be focused on listening, speaking, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), reading, writing, auditory memory/processing, executive functioning, and social pragmatic skillsProvide direct services to students in individual, small group, and inclusion settingsProvide consultation to general education and special education staff regarding students needs and best practicesMaintain records and documentation on students including reporting on progress toward annual IEP goals and objectivesPrepare materials and schedule activities necessary to provide servicesParticipate in the Individual Education Program (IEP) and 504 meetings, as directedParticipate in continuing education opportunities to meet the guidelines for SLPA certificationAssist with clerical duties, as requested by SLPCandidates must have:Ability to collaborate with othersStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong organizational skillsStrong technology skillsExperienced working in a school setting providing direct Speech-Language Therapy Services with students at the early childhood and elementary level, including Integrated and Intensive Pre-Kindergarten models.
