Title: Analytical Associate
Location: Iowa City, IA 52240
Duration: 7 Months with extension
(2nd shift)- 2pm-10pm
(3rd shift)- 10pm-6am
Pay Rate Range: $30.00 - $35.00 on W2
MUST HAVES
- 3-5 years analytical lab experience
- Able to work 2nd or 3rd shift
- Accurately records test results in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and SAP
- Complies with good manufacturing practices (GMP) and good laboratory practices (GLP)
- Must be able to work 40 hours per week as well as overtime as required by the business
- Performs analytical tests for finished goods, intermediates, and other samples per specified test methods (wet
bench chemistry and analytical instrumentation)
- Responsible for analytical instrument maintenance and calibration
- Utilizes analytical instruments, including but not limited to, pH meter, moisture balance, colorimeter,
rheometer, density meter, Karl Fischer, and dissolution rig
NICE TO HAVES
- Prior analytical experience in a regulated (FDA, Health Canada, etc.) manufacturing environment
Intake call notes
- 2 positions to support two shifts (no onsite rotation requirement) – Monday to Friday
- 2pm-10pm (2nd shift)
- 10pm-6am (3rd shift)
- Preferred experience in manufacturing environment
- No travel but onsite role, there is onsite free parking
- Required to work with non hazardous chemicals
Job DescriptionThe Analytical Chemist Associate performs physical, chemical or bioanalytical characterization of finished product or raw material test samples. Associate applies various chemistry techniques and scientific methods to characterize test materials to enable Client's experimental objectives.
Technical deliverables include, but are not limited to: basic bench chemistry techniques (including pH, viscosity and particle size), sample preparation, chromatography, gravimetric analysis).
Receives and follow instructions on assignment objectives with accuracy and great attention to detail. Spends the largest percentage of time in the laboratory.
Associate analysts must use their analytical skills to understand how the collected data can affect business decisions, then prepare reports that detail findings and recommend solutions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Instrumentation operation, sample analysis, Notebook documentation, reviewing reports, quality systems compliance.
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related field. Relevant experience in an academic or industrial lab setting with Client on notebook documentation.
Ability to analyze and document various different types of data. Ability to operate basic lab equipment including pH meters, pipettes, spectrophotometer, etc. Strong math skills, attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
