Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team as a Farm Hand. As a Farm Hand, your primary job is to pick up and compost chickens. You will also assist in various tasks related to chicken house operations, equipment repair, animal handling, and general farm maintenance. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for farming and a desire to work in a hands-on environment.
Duties:
- Pick up and compost chickens daily in 3-6 chicken houses depending on the day.
- Operate power tools and equipment for farm maintenance and repairs
- Repair and maintain farm equipment as needed
- Maintain health and biosecurity standards
- Operate heavy equipment such as Manitous, Tractors, side by sides, and lawn mowers
- Assist with general farm maintenance tasks as assigned
- MUST HAVE A Valid Drivers License
Experience:
- Previous experience picking up chickens
- Previous experience working in a farm environment is preferred
- Familiarity with power tools and equipment repair is a plus
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks in various weather conditions
