JOB SUMMARY:We are currently seeking a Medical Assistant to work for our newest urgent care practice. Under the direction of the Office Manager, this position will aid the clinical staff by performing various administrative duties and clinical tasks.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Greet and register patients as they arrive
• Obtain vital signs and initial information
• Perform routine labs such as throat and urine cultures
• Blood draws
• Irrigate and assist with wounds
• Call in prescriptions
• Perform other duties as needed, including apply splints and assisting the nurse and/or doctor in other medical procedures
• Make referrals and do prior authorizations
• Call patient's back regarding questions and courtesy calls
• Help to maintain a clean facility

QUALIFICATIONS:The qualified candidate will have prior experience and/or education as a Medical Assistant, will demonstrate a professional and friendly demeanor, have strong communication skills, have urgent care experience and be capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional customer service skills are required. Applicants should be comfortable with computers and willing to learn Microsoft Office as well as various types of medical software. Applicants must be very reliable as the Clinic Manager is not on site to cover shifts Saturday and Sunday.

Job Types: Part-time, PRN

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
