VSE Careers is Hiring a Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift Near Independence, KS

**2nd Shift Schedule: Monday - Friday, 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM
Must be able to train on day shift for a minimum of 90 days. **
SUMMARY: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing general building maintenance and supporting the mechanical needs of the facility to prevent unplanned downtime.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Perform General facility maintenance.
  • Replace or repair defective parts, components, or systems using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
  • Complete basic carpentry and painting task.
  • Complete general upkeep functions throughout the facility.
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment and facilities to identify and address maintenance needs.
  • Document maintenance records of all work performed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • 1-2 years of general facility maintenance experience.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and plumbing skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual labor and work in various environments, including standing, kneeling, bending, and lifting heavy objects.
  • Basic computer operating skills required (Word, Excel).
  • Be proficient in writing and communication skills.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
  • 3 years of facility maintenance experience.
  • Familiarity with CMMS software.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS (INCLUDING LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, SECURITY CLEARANCE, TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS, ETC.):
  • The selected applicant will be subject to a background check and drug testing.
