Job Title: Elementary Music Teacher
Location: Crimson Point Elementary
Reports To: Principal
Calendar: 185 days
Hours: Full time
Salary: Placed on the certified salary schedule
Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Public Employees Retirement System and Employee Assistance Program (employee is responsible for 50% or as calculated by FTE)
Qualifications:

  • Must possess a current Idaho Education Credential with appropriate endorsement.
  • Positive public relations skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to accomplish the major duties listed below.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Perform such school-related duties as may be assigned by the principal.
  2. Be knowledgeable of, and uphold, all policies pertaining to teachers and students as specified in the Board Policy Manual.
  3. Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter competencies and/or skills to be presented to students.
  4. Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students where possible.
  5. Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students within the limits of resources provided by the district.
  6. Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals, establish clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects, and communicate these objectives to students. Upon request of the immediate supervisor, show written evidence of preparation.
  7. Use instructional materials adopted by the district and employ methods that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives.
  8. Evaluate student progress on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
  9. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities and follow prescribed safety regulations.
  10. Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
  11. Accept responsibility for extra-curricular activities and other duties as may be assigned to meet the needs of students.
  12. Work to establish and maintain open lines of communication and cooperative relations with the administration, students, parents, and colleagues.
  13. Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees to plan instructional goals, objectives, and methods; assist in the selection of instructional equipment and materials.
  14. Strive to maintain and improve professional competence.
  15. Act ethically in all aspects of the teaching role.
  16. Know and follow district policy and chain of command.
  17. Deal with students, parents, staff, and others in a positive, encouraging manner.
  18. Act ethically and confidently in all aspects of employment.
  19. Any other duties as assigned.
