LHH is Hiring a Sanitation Manager Near IN, IN

LHH is seeking a Sanitation Manager for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with a manufacturing client in Indianapolis, Indiana.

This is a unique opportunity to join an industry leader in one of the fastest growing industries in America. In this role, you will oversee a multi-site operation and be responsible for sanitation operations, controlling the cleaning and sanitation of processing equipment, ensuring adherence to SQF and regulatory compliance standards, and leading a sanitation team.

The compensation ranges between $90-110K plus bonus and includes a comprehensive benefit package, 401k plan, and generous PTO and holiday offerings.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the development, implementation, execution and evaluation of the Sanitation Program and taking corrective action to prevent product contamination
  • Ensure that cleaning and sanitation is executed in compliance with GMPs, HACCP, and other quality standards
  • Supervise and coordinate all sanitation activities as the team cleans, sanitizes, and repairs equipment within the facility and ensure effective, efficient cleaning of the facility
  • Prepare for food safety audits and maintain an environment that is safe, sanitary, and orderly
  • Participate in audit processes and audit tours
  • Address sanitation requirements using Master Cleaning Schedules and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures
  • Oversee and direct activities related to pest control including monitoring, recordkeeping, exclusion practices and treatment programs
  • Manage interviewing, hiring, terminations, employee relations, and employee retention for departmental employees
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Production, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to develop functional sanitation objectives and plant metrics
  • Assist with the strategic vision of the department, develop plans and budgets, complete staff scheduling, and conduct training
  • Lead and complete various capital projects
  • Inspect facilities periodically to identify problems and create weekly sanitation schedules so work can be allocated
  • Purchase cleaning chemicals, equipment, shop supplies, etc. as needed
  • Perform other required tasks as assigned by the leadership team

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related field is preferred
  • Minimum of 4 years of sanitation experience is required
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience within a manufacturing facility is required
  • Must have 3 years of leadership experience within a sanitation department
  • Preference toward candidates with experience and knowledge of GMP, SQF, and / or HACCP
  • Must have strong technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment
  • Must have knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations
  • Must demonstrate a strong understanding of budgeting and performance management
  • Must be willing to learn, self-motivated, and a positive leader
