Optimal Solutions Group, LLC (Optimal) is a leading non-partisan public policy research firm that conducts studies and provides technical assistance on health care, education, welfare, housing, community development, and related subjects. Our mission is to provide policy makers with rigorous and timely studies that enable our clients (including federal, state, and local government agencies, as well as private foundations) to improve public well-being. The qualified candidate will provide custom application development and application/system support as required to multiple projects within the company. Design application specific user interfaces and code functionality. Perform test and remediation issues following the testing process. Provide production support for .NET applications as required.
Work experience and job skills requirements:
- 2 years of experience in a technical support/application development using the Microsoft .NET technology stack (C# / .NET, ASP.NET MVC, Web APIs, Entity Framework) and SQL databases (Microsoft SQL Server or similar)
- 1 years’ experience with HTML 5, jQuery, JavaScript, Angular
- Clear understanding of Object-Oriented Programming concepts and client/server architecture
- Experience with Git, unit testing, debugging, Visual Studio, JIRA and any other tool used by developers on Microsoft Technology stack
- Superior troubleshooting and performance management skills
- Experience with CI/CD environment and build tool such as TeamCity or Jenkins
- Experience with frontend design and development (Bootstrap, CSS etc.)
- Experience creating visualizations with d3.js
- Experience in working with Agile software development methodology
- Experience with gathering requirements, analysis, planning, application development, documentation and end-user support
- Knowledge of Windows Workflow Foundation
- Understanding of database design concepts and stored procedures
- Strong interpersonal communication and technical writing skills
- Education Requirements: Bachelor’s in computer science or equivalent
