Primary Purpose :
Responsible for the training and retraining of bus drivers; teaching defensive driving and other programs and assisting with accident investigations.
Prepare and revise curriculum for new employee orientation and assign new employee mentors. Conduct ongoing training for all personnel as needed.
Serve as the first level of contact for safety and training for all Transportation Employees. Performs all behind the wheel evaluations for drivers and on-site evaluations for crossing guards.
Qualifications :
Education / Certification :
Valid Texas commercial driver’s license (Class B) with P and S endorsements
DPS Bus Driver Certification
Special Knowledge / Skills :
Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of commercial transportation vehicles
Knowledge of federal and state traffic laws and regulations
Knowledge of bus evacuation procedures of students including special needs students
Knowledge of effective training practices
Knowledge of student management techniques, including special needs students.
Knowledge of emergency evacuation procedures, including special needs students.
Ability to prepare training material.
Ability to perform safety checks of commercial vehicles.
Experience :
Three years of experience as a school bus driver
