Job Title: Food Service Worker
Reports To: Director of Child Nutrition
Contracted Days: 180
Job Summary: Provide assistance within a school food service facility with preparation, service, and storage of food and supplies; program accountability and safety and sanitation procedures.
Essential Duties:
Attend and complete required job related training classes and workshops.
Practice appropriate procedures to assure sanitation and safety standards are met in the preparation of the service area; preparing, serving and storing food; use and care of equipment; personal habits.
Follow verbal and/or written instructions for preparing, portioning, garnishing and serving meals, storing food and utilizing and maintaining equipment and facility.
Consistently demonstrate efficient and productive use of time and resources to meet established productivity standards.
Maintain with accuracy all required records and forms including time sheets, absence reports, food and supply usage records, cashier records, etc.
Consistently demonstrate the ability to communicate positively with students, co-workers and school staff. • Follow procedures in personnel matters including grievance, absence, job bidding and established dress code.
If cashier, receive continued on-the-job training as required by software updates; maintain accuracy in daily transactions and money collections and accounting.
Perform food service related tasks as assigned by manager or his/her representative.
Qualifications:
Some experience in food service work preferred; or any equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
